Western NC is STILL a Disaster

North Carolinians deserve a U.S. Senator who will fight for them. My campaign is about fixing what is broken and building what is needed.  After visiting Western N. C., I was shocked to find out that 15 months later some communities still have no electricity, houses are still boarded up and there are long lines at local food banks. And residents’ basic needs are being met by nonprofits and not FEMA who was nowhere to be found. This is completely unacceptable. I met with churches and Community leaders to understand their struggles, what is needed and how to best assist in their ongoing efforts. My team went on a “hunt" for the FEMA trailers which were nowhere to be found leaving lifelong residents who lost everything with no shelter. As a former law enforcement officer, I jumped into action assisting at food banks and met with local leaders to discuss a comprehensive long term plan to FIX WHAT IS BROKEN AND BUILD WHAT IS NEEDED! I will be holding a press conference to inform North Carolinians on my investigation and demand answers from Michael Whatley (candidate for U.S. Senate) who was appointed by Trump to oversee the recovery efforts. When I asked where he was I was told no one had seen him.

Our state deserves better!  I’ll make sure our citizens get what they need.
